I love the flavor of mangoes but to be frank, good tasting fresh mangoes can be a bit pricey around here. Instead I buy frozen mango. It’s not too great on it’s own (thawed), but it is absolutely wonderful as a smoothie. I played around quite a bit with it until I came up with my favorite recipe for mango smoothie. Here it is. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It comes out nice and frozen, almost like a sorbet.
Recipe For Mango Smoothie
- 1 cup frozen mango chunks
- 1/2 cup low fat vanilla yogurt
- 1/2 (approx) orange juice
Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth. You may want to start with less orange juice and add more until you get the consistency you like best. Less juice makes a thicker smoothie, while more juice makes it thinner.
If you don’t care for the orange flavor in this, you can substitute low or non-fat milk for the juice.
