Mango Smoothie

MangoThis is the perfect mango smoothie. Adding the ice cream gives it that little something extra and perfect consistency. The banana and honey balance out the tartness of the mango. Give it a try, I think you’re going to like this frozen treat.

Mangoes are a good source of vitamin A, E and Selenium which help to protect against heart disease. They are also full of antioxidants and contain quite a bit of iron. They also have quite a bit of fiber in them, which is something most of us could use more of in our diet. In other words it’s a pretty healthy fruit and perfect for using in your breakfast smoothie.

For a lower calorie version use low-fat vanilla yogurt instead of the ice cream and non-calorie sweetener instead of the honey.

Mango Smoothie

  • 1 large mango
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • Ice (optional)

Peel and seed the mango and cut the fruit flesh into chunks. Add them to your blender. Peel the banana and break it into several pieces, then add them to the blender as well. Pour the honey, ice cream and milk in the blender and blend until smooth. Add some ice cubes and continue to blend until you have the consistency you want.
