I love making these delicious frozen drink treats. Take this mango fruit smoothie recipe for example. It’s easy to make and very healthy. This particular version also happens to be very low in calories, making it a perfect summer treat for those of us watching our weight.
Mango Fruit Smoothie Recipe
- 1 large mango
- 1 cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup skim milk
- 8 ice cubes
- half banana
Start by preparing the mango. Cut along each side of the mango pit to reveal two major chunks. Cut into the flesh on both these “halves” horizontally and vertically, then cut the cubes of mango from the skin. Repeat with the small pieces that are still attached to either side of the mango pit. It will look sort of like this:
If you don’t want to use fresh mango, or it’s not in season, you can substitute one to one and a half cups of frozen mango in this smoothie. The mango can be used frozen or you can let it thaw out on the counter or in the fridge overnight first.
