One of my daughter’s favorite fruits is banana. Since they are also quite frugal, we always have a bunch of them sitting on the counter. When they start to get a little over ripe and I don’t feel like baking with them, I peel and slice them. Next, I put them into freezer bags and freeze them to use in this simple banana smoothie recipe. We all like it and it makes a healthy snack that cools you down on a hot summer day.
Banana Smoothie Recipe
- 1 large or two small frozen bananas
- 1 cup of milk (from powdered milk is fine)
Blend everything in a blender until smooth and serve right away. Depending on how sweet your bananas are, you may want to add a little of your favorite sweetener. I like stevia or honey in my banana smoothie.
My husband will sometimes add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to this smoothie and drink it for breakfast.
